Fall Dressing : Neutrals, Pop of Color, Wedges And Tassels

Today's outfit is all about comfort (while looking put together of course!) Some pieces (like a dolman sleeve baggy sweater, stretchy skinny jeans and lace up wedge-booties) make any outfit very easy and comfortable. I got this sweater (very forgiving on tummy and love handles) and booties during my last visit to Sears (see the post about styling searsStyle Fall pieces). The tassel scarf adds color and interest in this mostly neutral outfit.  I wore these shoes during NYFW when I was running from one show to another like a crazy woman! Their 2.5 inches wedge heel is pretty comfortable for all day wear and the style is very much on trend for fall.

Postcards From Victoria

Today's post comes my recent travel to the west coast of Canada. These pictures are from the beautiful Victoria, British Columbia. I am back in New York, but I left a little piece of my heart there! It was our second family getaway to Victoria. First time when we were there, Mili was just 2 years old! So this trip was much more relaxed, easy (no diaper bag - yay!!) and fun. This place is beautiful beyond words! The Victoria Harbour is a great place to hang out and people watch. From impromptu road shows to Scottish pipe performance by kilt-wearing artists, to the great views of  Empress Hotel and majestic Parliament Building, it is a fun place for the whole family. The vine colored walls of Empress are just gorgeous! The city  has some breathtaking scenic viewpoints and lookouts with blue pacific ocean calming your soul. Another must-visit place in Victoria is Butchart Gardens. I was blown away by the beauty, serenity and colors of blooms there!

A moment frozen in time: Horse carriage rides are a homage to early 1900s transport system of Victoria. The rides are expensive ($55 for 15 Minutes and $100 for a 30 minute scenic tour) but fun. They have family rides as well as special packages for a romantic tour.

While On Vacation....

If you follow me on instagram, facebook or twitter, (if not, you should. Please!:-)) you must know by now that I am away for a vacation. As my husband and I both love Pacific Northwest (Seattle is my favorite city!), we decide to take a break from NY and visit west coast of Canada. This post is coming from you from Victoria, Canada, more specifically from Butchart Gardens. This place is paradise - a garden lover's dream! Calling it a garden is like calling sun warm!! My photos don't do justice to the gorgeous botanical beauty that is Butchart Gardens!

The day we were there was partly cloudy and it added to the mystic aura of the nature's bounty there! The mist was right rolling the mountains!! We had a great family time looking at all the flowers, plants, Japanese and Italian style gardens, and of course the roses!!

I had a casual outfit on with a light sweater to ward off the slight chill in the morning! This Old Navy sweater I am wearing comes in many colors and patterns and is on sale for just $9.97!!

Old Navy Kids And Baby Sale : So Much To Love!

Our family is an Old Navy shopper. Even before I had Mili, my little daughter, I used to find myself at Old Navy a lot. I mean, A LOT!! Reason being Old Navy's absolutely trendy and cool style and the great prices and sales! So when I was contacted by Old Navy to explore their super amazing kids and baby sale, my response was - you don't even have to ask!
I went to the Midtown location of Old Navy at 34th and 7th and stocked up on the Spring/Summer staples for my little one! The one thing that struck me about the kids (specially little girls collection) is that the clothes are so chic and sophisticated. They have expanded the pink and frilly style you usually find for little girls in any kids' store, and added such cool colors as grey, navy, chartreuse, Irish green, mustard yellow and neon to make your little sweetheart's Spring wardrobe stand out - and best thing, you don't even need to spend that much. Most pieces were under $20! The T shirts are $8-$10, sprig dresses are &10-$12, the comfortable and chic ballet flats in striped patterns are just &14! If you have not been to Old Navy lately, I strongly suggest you go today and take advantage of their amazing kids and baby sale!

There are plenty of layered looks you can create with mix and match pieces that your buck even stretches further! Who doesn't love that?? Here are some of the layered looks we created with a floral print skinny jeans and striped ballet flats in navy.

Isn't this dog with a polka dot bow the most adorable thing??

I am so in love with the graphic t shirt and the cute, beautiful illustraions absolutely perfect for a little girl!!

In the end, a happy mama and happy kid! Thanks Old Navy!!
