Switzerland Travel Snapshots : Trümmelbach Falls

Trümmelbach Falls are world's only glacier falls that flow inside a mountain and are accessible by stairs and lift. The loud, gushing, powerful waterfall is a sight to behold! As we were staying in Mürren, we took a cable car down to Stechelberg and from there we hiked on a pretty flat 3.1 kilometer trail to Trümmelbach Falls, situated in Lauterbrunnen valley. Can not forget the breathtaking sights we saw along the way!

The wisdom in nature! It is all about the balance in life:-)
 Mili being Mili! :-)

The view on the road to Trümmelbach Falls. The flat trail from Stechelberg to Trümmelbach Falls is  just 35 minutes (almost 3 kms) hike, easy for kids too.

The cutest bus stop in the world!
I am still reminiscing about the natural beauty and just pure awesomeness of Switzerland! Can't wait to go back there sometimes soon!

{Travel Diary} Allmendhubel Flower Trail, Mürren, Switzerland

Allmendhubel Flower Trail, Mürren Switzerland
As you know already, our Swiss vacation was full of fun - from a super cool hotel room, to Alps views to nature trails and hikes, our trip was unforgettable adventure! On our second day of stay in the village of Mürren, we took a cable car up to Allmendhubel with a expansive view of flower park and the mountains Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The Allmendhubel flower trail has easy hikes for kids with almost 150 kinds of flowers including Alpine roses and Edelweiss dotting the green meadows as far as the eye goes! We spent few hours soaking in the view and breathing in fresh mountain air. (And getting fierce hugs from Mili!)

Mürren, Switzerland And Review Of Hotel Eiger {Video}

Mürren, Switzerland, Mürren Travel Tips, Hotel Eiger Mürren Review
Crisp, clean mountain air, majestic, snow covered alps peaks, car-free quiet streets, vibrant wildflowers on the side of the roads and a very welcoming small community - that is Mürren for you! A small village with the population of just 450, it is a place that is big in every other way. We chose this heavenly quaint village for our Swiss vacation for its location (the amazing views of the three famous mountains: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau) and the beautiful mountain trails, some easy enough to hike even with kids. Mürren is easily accessible From Zurich by taking couple of trains (Bahn) and a cable car that shows the beautiful Lauterbrunnen valley while going up.
Our stay was made truly unforgettable by the impeccable hospitality of Hotel Eiger. We loved staying in their famous 'James Bond Suite' with cool decor, sleek furniture and the Bond theme music for a door bell! It was one of the coolest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in!

The James Bond Suite is perfect for a family too as it has two bathrooms and a spacious living area where the couch can be converted into a bed.

The fun part of this bathroom is the mesh curtain along this bathroom area (you can't see that in the picture) It really creates the 'James Bond' ambiance - I felt like a femme fatale plotting her next move in the tub! LOL!

Hotel Eiger offers breathtaking views of the Alps and after a long day of hike and sight seeing, one can relax at the terrace overlooking the mountains. You literally are in the mountains here! The video below was taken from the balcony of our suite.

Hotel Eiger provides world class hospitality but with the personal touch of a family owned business - because it is a family owned hotel! Established in 1892, Hotel Eiger is now maintained by the fourth generation. Owners Susanna and Adrian Stähli are absolutely fabulous hosts and the staff is really friendly and kind. They have a great breakfast buffet and their restaurant offers great Swiss cuisine along with luscious desserts. Really, I have never eaten better ice-cream in my life!
I highly recommend Hotel Eiger if you ever find yourself in Mürren!

I may have come back to New York, but I left a piece of my heart in Mürren and I can't wait to go back there again!

Things To Do In NYC: New York Water Taxi Guided Tours

Whether you are visiting New York City or live around here, its sights and sounds, multicultural people and ever-changing skyline will always capture your fancy. I have been living here for four years now and still find myself wide-eyed and mesmerized with this bundle of energy called New York! One of my favorite activity to do is take a boat ride/cruise on a warm day. Specially when I have visitors in my house - we all go for the boat ride under the sun! I simply love the York Water Taxi tours. The guided tour is fun, relaxing and full of interesting information about NYC. I have been on it numerous times and every time I feel I saw something new or got to know some fact about New York City I didn't know before!

The bright yellow checkered boats (replicating the famous New York City taxi) are accessible from five locations in NYC. Pier 79, W.39th St Christopher Street Battery Park, Slip 6 Pier 11, Slip A Pier 1- DUMBO  and Red Hook Dock, Van Brunt Street. The best thing about New York Water Taxi tour is that with its all-access day pass, you can hop off any of the above locations, explore on your own and come back to take the next available taxi to continue your tour. Boats run about every 45 minutes and you can rejoin at any stop along the way. I love the tour guides on these rides. They are witty and funny and tell jokes and explain things in a way that will make people laugh their way to a better understanding of New York’s layout, history, tourist attractions and neighborhoods. On the boat you will find people from all over the world, making it clear that everybody loves New York!:-)
New York Water Taxi takes you real close to Statue of Liberty and the boat stops here so every body can take a better look and take pictures with Lady Liberty in the background.

Brooklyn Bridge from the boat.
As an official transportation partner of the 9/11 Memorial Museum, New York Water Taxi is one of the select partners with access to timed 9/11 Memorial Museum tickets. Now you can make your All-Day Access Pass into a combo with a timed ticket to the 9/11 Memorial Museum. Hop off at the Battery Park location, visit the Freedom Tower and 9/11 museum and get back on the next boat to continue your tour.

Mili mesmerized with the NYC skyline.
The boat tour is great for kids of all ages. The flexibility to hop off at any location and take the next boat makes it easy to travel in case kids get hungry or want a break.
We are on a boat!
You can see both New York (on left) and New Jersey (on right) from the water. As they jokingly say, the best view of Manhattan is from New Jersey!
If you had only one day to spend in New York, probably the best way to do it would be with New York Water Taxi. I highly recommend it! If you decide to end your tour at Midtown’s Pier 79, you can take advantage of the double-decker bus tour of Midtown included in your Hop On/Hop Off Water Taxi pass. You can buy tickets in advance online or in person from any of the locations.
