Step Into Spring: Easy Weekend Dressing With Avon

Today I am collaborating with Avon to bring to you the spring wardrobe staples. I have to admit, when I think of Avon, the first things that come to mind are cosmetics and skin and hair care products! But Avon have a great selection of  apparel and shoes (almost all items are under $50!!) that can enrich any wardrobe, all year round.  As spring is finally here (yay! for the 70 degrees in New York!!), it is time say goodbye to winter blues and embrace the cheerful colors of Spring/Summer and Avon is here to help you pick out your Spring essentials and get ready for weekend, work or a party!
The cap toes shoes have been a big trend lately and these stylish and super comfortable cushioned flats in bright ocean colors are a treat to the soles!
A wardrobe staple – the chambray shirt – is oh so chic this season paired with leggings for the weekend or a pencil skirt for the office! Layer it with a trench and you can take this versatile piece well into fall! For just $24.99, this Avon chambray shirt is a steal! I love the length of it as I can tuck it in with a skirt or belt it up over leggings or skinny jeans.

Craving for colors? Take a look at some of my favorite pieces from Avon!

LookBook: Paisley Shirt, Colorblock Tote And Embellished Loafers

As much as I love bright colors for my Spring wardrobe, I also admire the timelessness of a classic neutral outfit. Like this cute button front shirt, skinny denim, flats with an attitude - all brought together by a classic neutral tote!
I have been (in)famous among my friends and family to knot my shirts and Tees, and I can safely say that the knotting here gives a tulip hemline effect to this paisley shirt. I picked it up during my recent trip to India from IKnowStudio, a brand by designers Timsy and Siddhartha, their creations available on many e-tailers in India. I love the beautiful paisley print and the trendy cut of the shirt with high-low hem.

Bag - Chicnova
I loved this bag as soon as I laid my eyes upon it on chicnova.com and so glad that I got it. The dual tone (Faux Leather + Suede) make it look chic and the the neutral color block is right on trend for 2013! (It originally came with tassels, which I removed to keep things mod and polished) Perfect for a day of shopping!
Jeans - Old Navy  (It fits like a dream!)

Shoes - MyHotShoes.com
The it shoe of the moment has to be a pair of loafers, with a cool style and the hipster attitude! This beige pair from MyHotShoes.com sports an embellished toe box that makes it perfect for day and night both!
Soaking up the sun and ready to go shopping! Wouldn't you join me?

Back From Vacation!

A month long vacation is over. I am back in New York, recuperating from the crazy, fun time I had in India with my family. We visited the northern part of India (where I am from) and the southern Part of India (Kerala), where my husband is from.  The memories of the majestic mountains and the roaring sea, of spicy food and signature Indian sweets, of bargain shopping and luxe designer stores visits, of crazy traffic and open roads, of late night cups of 'chai' and endless chatting, of jaw splitting laughter and bitter sweet parting tears - I have it all boxed up in my heart to take comfort from when the time gets tough and I need solace.
Family. Home. Relationships. The stuff worth living for.
Resort Alert: If you are planning to take a vacation in this part of the country, a great place to stay is the Moutnain Trail Resort

The two week stay in my husband's hometown was heavenly. The fertile land of Kerala has tropical flowers blooming everywhere, the coconut trees dancing in sea breeze welcome you to the lush land often called 'God's own Country'. A must visit place if you are planning a trip to India.

Lucky to live just a few hundred yards from this sleepy beach. Bliss.

Fashion wise, it was a comfortable, casual, easy-breezy kinda vacation. I made use of my colored denim and lightly layered them for the early spring weather. Who knew back home I'll be greeted with dipping mercury with wind chill that makes it feel in the 30s!! Good thing I have the warm memories of my vacation to see me through the chill of New York!

Here is to great vacations and warmer weather! Has spring arrived in your neck of the woods yet? Share your thoughts and connect with me on
