Lookbook : How To Wear Denim Overall After 30!

Denim overalls. These two words bring forth the images of a farmer, painter or a cute 7 year old girl in pigtails! But if styled right, this unassuming piece of clothing can be a wardrobe staple for women over 30 too. I was not always a denim overall fan, but three years ago, I found these comfortable and chic denim overall at Express and realized I actually LOVE this trend!  Because denim overall have little bit of masculine vibe, I like to pair it with a feminine top or blouse. This oxford striped poplin top was an inexpensive find at Marshall's for under $20 and I love the statement making sleeves of it! I think there is no "rule" in fashion and you do you - for me, super distressed overalls won't work for me (and in my opinion, women in 30s or 40s). Lookbook : Denim Overalls

Its true that fashion always comes to full circle! The 80s and 90s denim overalls are back! I loved the casual, fun and youthful look of denim dungarees but honestly I was apprehensive about pulling this look off on me. But seeing the celeb moms in denim overalls swayed me;-)

I looked around for a pair of denim overall for a long time to find the ones that are neither too 'junior' for me, nor too 'farmer'! The Express boyfriend denim overalls fit the bill perfectly. I love the light wash for Spring/Summer.

Fashion Trend : Denim Overalls

As they say, nothing ever goes out of style - it just takes a break and comes back with a bang! Case in point - denim overalls (or dungarees as they are commonly called on the other side of Atlantic) The fashion staple of 80s and early 90s, the denim overalls are here again. Celebrities like Diane Kruger, Alessandra Ambrosio and Sraha Jessica Parker were spotted recently in the cool denim overalls, and I have to say, it made me want to get one pair of myself. (You may soon see me in one!;))
