Lookbook :Gray Sunshine

Today's outfit has two of my favorite things going for it- Chartreuse/neon and gray color combination and the fact that everything in this look was scored on a great price. This cute Funny Birds T-tshirt from J.Crew is super comfortable and I got it during their extra 50 % off clearance sale! Same with the skirt. This J Crew Factory double serge cotton pencil skirt was found on clearance for less than $20! They have some more amazing colors for Spring/Summer and some of them are also upto 50% off now. 

This super chic colorblock wallet clutch is big enough to hold my iPhone, cards and even a lipstick! Target has it for buy one get one 50% deal now.

What can I say I am a lucky shopper:-)

Lookbook : Houndstooth & Chartreuse (and some thoughts on 'Blogger Poses")

When you take your pictures as often as a fashion blogger, you sometimes run out of  'poses'. I have noticed that there are certain poses most bloggers resort to (including myself) - like the jacket draped over shoulders (it is very uncomfortable way of wearing a jacket in real life! Trust me, I have 'posed' with that pose too! Although in my defense, this way of wearing jacket shows the blog readers what is underneath the coat), Another common 'pose' is walking as if we are chased by papparazzi (I have taken pictures in that mode too! It is good way of let the photographer decide which angle they want. ). And then there is looking at the ground as if looking for a lost penny! You know the the neck arched to the side, hands on the lapel, or in the hair ..:-)

(If we can't laugh at ourselves, we don't have any right to laugh at anything/anybody else, right?)

How To Wear The Color Chartreuse

Not green, not yellow, not quite neon, almost lime, but not really! The color of the wet leaves that just barely sprouted the day before, the color of the green apple just before it is ready to be picked, the color sophisticated and playful at he same time! Chartreuse is as much fun to say as it is to wear or look at. I fell in love with this color all over again when I saw Carey Mulligan in her Gatsby avatar in a chartreuse velvet gown on the cover of Vogue in April issue!
