Summer Trend 2012 - Bold Prints

Get noticed and turn heads with prints that are big, bold and totally 'out there'! Just like this folded waist cropped pants from necessaryclothing.com. Pleats on the pockets and relaxed fit at the hips make this trendy pair of pants centerpiece of this outfit. Can't beat the price either - it is selling for just $17.99! This runway inspired piece lives up to its name - Milan Waist Pants - as I really feel like catwalking in them. For my own runway, I picked up these cool spiked studded sandals in bright orange. Why do 'bold' in half measures right?? I love the edgy feel of these sandals and the price is right - just $25.99. And don't forget to claim your 20% off with the coupon code DELIGHT2 if you too fancy these bad boys (or any other hot shoes you want to buy) from myhotshoes.com

"We May Not Have It All At Once, But We Can Have It All Subsequently!"

Can we have it all - a fulfilling career, a happy marriage, houseful of kids (or a single child) raised on home-made meals? Valerie Monroe (Beauty Director, O The Oprah Magazine) says we can! May be not all at once, but gradually, subsequently! Last night I had the pleasure of attending an style event where she spoke about ageless beauty and shared her experience of being a successful career woman and a mother. Valerie put her career on the back burner when she was raising her son. She continued her free lance writing, authored two amazing books and when time was right, joined O Magazine's editorial team. Given her professional success, she actually manged to have it all! Her comment about 'having it all subsequently' stuck with me and reinforced my belief - stick to what is working for you. What are your priorities? If career comes second to managing home and kids - embrace your new role of the full time caregiver. If career comes first, stick to managing quality time and semi-home made meals. But always respect other people's priorities!  Mine may be different than yours, but we all strive for the same - having it all one day!

Coming to the outfit - The accordion pleated OASAP skirt paired with my old Ann Taylor blouse make an easy, effortless summer outfit. I added a touch of gold with this necklace from VJ-STYLE.COM The best thing about this outfit is that every piece is mix-and-match-able and can crate a totally new look every time - now that is one have-it-all outfit if I may say so!

Blogger Spotlight - Mommy in Manhattan

On Style Delights I share with you all the things I find stylish. I share fashion trends, fashion news, new brands, my personal style, celebrity outfits and everything that I think my readers would find interesting. Today I am starting  a Blogger Spotlight series where I will share stylish, inspiring and interesting blogs and bloggers! First in this series is a gorgeous blogger Jenna Crandall from the blog  Mommy In Manhattan. I have known Jenna as a friend, as a fellow mom and as a blogger and she wows me in every role! She is a wonderful mother to 3 amazing kids and blogs about her adventures of raising a family in the Big Apple - all while looking like a million bucks! Jenna speaks to Style Delights about her blog and her style.

Style Delights: Welcome to Style Delights, Jenna! Tell us about when and how 'Mommy in Manhattan' started?
Jenna Crandall: Thanks for having  me Jyoti. I am a mother of 3 living in NYC and I work as an esthetician and eyelash extension specialist. My passion is skincare and helping women feel comfortable in their own skin. I enjoy fitness & healthy living. I became a pilates instructor after having my second baby to help me get in shape! I love fashion and try to stay fashionable while being a mom. "Mommy in Manhattan" started this past January when I realized how much I wanted to reach other women and encourage them to get out and experience all of the fun adventures in NYC and other areas of the world.  It's a blog about my happenings here in the big city.

SD: I love reading abut your adventures in the Big Apple! What are your favorite family activities in  New York?
JC: Our favorite activity is to walk the Brooklyn Bridge over to DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). We love riding the Jane Antique Carousel. Then stop at Grimaldis for pizza and The Brooklyn Icecream Factory. The parks in Brooklyn are beautiful and have a lot of grass for the kids to run around in. When we are tired and ready to get back to Manhattan, we hop on the water taxi and we're home in 5 minutes!

Jenna with actress Tia Mowry
SD: You have 3 young kids, you have a full time blog and you always look so fashionable and polished! What is your style secret?
JC: I keep outfit images in a binder. When I'm not sure what to wear I can quickly pull out the image and grab the items from my closet. When in doubt I wear a white or grey tee with skinny jeans, a colorful belt, ballet flats or wedges and go!

SD: How will you describe your style?
JC: Glam, colorful, simple, feminine.

SD: NYC is the shopping heaven! Where do you like to shop most? Any favorite stores and boutiques?
JC: I am definitely a shopper! I love shopping in SoHo. I love Madewell, Splendid, ZARA, TopShop, Tucker and I love Olive and Bettes.

SD: What are your must-have pieces in a summer wardrobe?
JC: Maxi dresses and denim shirts, I love wedges and Jcrew has the perfect summer wedges. Madewell has the best denim tops. C wonder has the best skinny belts to add pops of color to my outfits.

SD: What do you consider your make up essentials?
JC: Spray tan, sunscreen, lipgloss, bronzer. you can find some of may favorite beauty product on a budget here.

SD: Where do you like to shop for kids clothes and accessories?
JC: Zara has the best kids line. The shoes are always adorable and right on trend. I also love Splendid for children. Very comfortable clothing that is still stylish. Matilda Jane is my favorite splurge for my girls. Crewcuts is always a go to for staples like jeans, tees, and dresses.

SD: What are favorite fashion and parenting blogs?
JC: I love Momtrends, Mommy Poppins, The Pink Peonies, and Cupcakes & Cashmere.

SD:  Who are your style icons/inspirations?
JC: I love Jessica Alba's style now that she has kids. She always looks pulled together without being over the top.

Thanks for your time Jenna. It was wonderful talking to you! Good luck at your Manhattan adventures!

My Revlon Expression Experiment And Review

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Revlon. All opinions are 100% mine.
As much as I love dressing up, shopping and styling, I consider myself a fairly conservative make up enthusiast. I am by no means a makeup junkie as the term goes. A simple concealer, pressed powder, mascara and a sweep of lipstick is all I need - even for the occasion where I consider really putting my best face forward. I believe in quality and not quantity when buying and applying makeup products. I also don't believe burning a hole in the pocket to buy a foundation primer! That is why I participated in Revlon Expression Experiment Here is the scoop on the latest Revlon make up and beauty products I tried.

1. Nail Polish - I love to have my nails natural, I have never used acrylic nails. I am not too keen to use the harmful UV rays to set the Gel and Shellac manicures and really do not like drowning my fingers in Acetone on a regular basis. So when I heard about Revlon nail polish and long wear nail enamel that promises 11 days of lasting color and gel-like shine (when used with Revlon base and top coat), I had to give it a try! I tried the Indigo Night color with base and top coat and really was impressed with the salon like gel finish.
As you can see in the pictures below, the color and shine stays for more than a week and no chipping whatsoever! The best part- no harmful UV rays or acetone bath for the nails, It comes out with a simple sweep of nail polish remover!
Nails Day 1
Nails Day 5
Nails Day 7
2. Lipstick - As they say when in doubt wear red! I am more of a neutral or just a sweep of transparent gloss person, but I have been looking for a perfect red lipstick for my skin tone. Finally I found one - and it is called - what else - Certainly Red!! Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick goes on smoothly, has a long lasting color and it made my lips feel softer and smoother. Glamours and daring, this one is a keeper ladies!!
For a pop of weightless color and mirror like shine, you will find that The Revlon Color Burst Lipgloss comes second to none. I love the luxurious feel of this gloss.
I also tried Revlon Color Burst lip butter and let me tell you, it lives up to its name! It is soft and smooth as butter and amazingly light! I tried the Cherry Tart and it is a perfect shade when you want red color on your lips  but still want dark eye makeup!
Here I am wearing Revlon Color Burst Lip Butter in Cherry Tart. I love it, what do you think?
3. Eye Shadows - Revlon Color Stay 16 hour eye shadow has a veritable palette of neutral, bold and summer bright colors that can take you from day to night with just a silky sweep. I am specially loving the deep purples for a night out in town.
4. Face and Eye Primer - Probably my most important and essential make up item is a primer. I have large pores and I really hate when foundation sets in the pores after few hours. I tried Revlon Photoready perfecting primer and instantly saw smoother, more even skin. This primer is perfect to wear just by itself or under your makeup. The Eye primer is good for brightness and making the eye lids smooth so the eye shadow lasts longer without creasing.
I am continuing my experiment and will be posting more looks using these fabulous products. In the meantime, why don't you join me in Revlon Expression Experiment? all these products are available in your neighborhood drug store!

Fraud Alert: Beware of Reecn.com, It Is A Scam/Fake Retailer

Today's post is a PSA for all my fellow bloggers who work with online retailers and for all my readers who buy clothes and accessories online. As you all know, I work with brands and retailers on a regular basis. I love to find new stores and stylish stuff and love to share them on Style Delights. Therefore when I got an opportunity to introduce an online retailer reecn.com to my readers, I accepted it. Their website looked professional, their merchandise looked beautiful and my preliminary research about them showed that some pretty established blogs also have worked with them. So I decided to host a giveaway for them on my blog - afterall, who doesn't like their readers to win giftcards? As with all my giveaways, when a winner was chosen by random.org (in this case a lovely reader Lorna), I contacted the Reecn.com representative who had been emailing me to check that Lorna met all the requirements (that she liked their FB page etc). They did not reply. I contacted Lorna and told her that I am waiting to hear from them. We both waited for few more days. I contacted them thru all their social media channels and contact forms, but surprise - no reply! Then I contacted the bloggers who have worked with reecn.com and found out Reecn.com are less than stellar in terms of their professionalism. When I sent them a message saying I'll let my readers know about them, they sent me a shirt to style! This shirt is one of the shoddiest pieces of workmanship I have ever seen! Its ill fitting, ill-sewn and just plain un-wearable.
The buttons and the panels of the shirt are not aligned, the sleeves are asymmetrical - not for the style though!
So I dug deep and found out that there have been incidents where they took the customer's money and did not even ship the merchandise. They are supposed to be registered somewhere in China (at one place they have listed their city as Shanghai and their state ALASKA! - You can't make this sh*t up!!) They have a US number listed which is of course not responding. The funny thing is, their Pinterest profile says they are located in USA which is a total lie. I have nothing against them personally, but as a blogger I feel it is my duty to alert you. If you are a blogger reading this, I hope you spread the word on your social media/blogs too so that your readers and friends do not lose their money by shopping at reecn.com
BTW, here are their fake social media profiles - if you like them, please unlike/unfollow so that you don't accidentally advertise them to your friends and followers.
Reecn Facebook (Fakebook, more like!)
Reecn Pinterest (THEY ARE NOT LOCATED IN USA AS THEY CLAIM HERE!)
Reecn Twitter (lying birdie!)
So please beware of this online retailer, and share about their scam to your friends. If you are a blogger, share it with your readers too! During my research about Reecn.com, I came across some other fraudulent and unprofessional retailer via some other consumer alert websites. Here is a list of some more fake retailers who are trying to work with bloggers to gain trust among their readers.

As always, Style Delights vows to keep the readers informed and the reviews honest! Till we talk again!!

Today we are celebrating 236th birthday of America. As an immigrant to this country, I specially treasure the freedom, opportunities and exceptionalism of my adopted home. When I read or hear about the stories of success that America has helped create, I fall in love with this nation a little more! Today I am sharing one such story with you all - story of Fresh Produce - an apparel company that embodies the essence and spirit of American entrepreneurship.
