Wearing My Heart On My Sleeves!

I seem to be stuck in pleated maxi skirt land! And quite happily so! I love the way an accordion pleated skirt moves, specially a chiffon one. I got this ivory pleated skirt from sheinside.com. The fully lined skirt has an elastic waistwand and the neutral color gives a number of options for mixing and matching colors and prints. "We May Not Have It All At Once, But We Can Have It All Subsequently!"

Can we have it all - a fulfilling career, a happy marriage, houseful of kids (or a single child) raised on home-made meals? Valerie Monroe (Beauty Director, O The Oprah Magazine) says we can! May be not all at once, but gradually, subsequently! Last night I had the pleasure of attending an style event where she spoke about ageless beauty and shared her experience of being a successful career woman and a mother. Valerie put her career on the back burner when she was raising her son. She continued her free lance writing, authored two amazing books and when time was right, joined O Magazine's editorial team. Given her professional success, she actually manged to have it all! Her comment about 'having it all subsequently' stuck with me and reinforced my belief - stick to what is working for you. What are your priorities? If career comes second to managing home and kids - embrace your new role of the full time caregiver. If career comes first, stick to managing quality time and semi-home made meals. But always respect other people's priorities! Mine may be different than yours, but we all strive for the same - having it all one day!

Black And White And A Little Sparkle (And Blessings In Life!)

Some things in life are priceless. Vital. Needed. Greatly appreciated. Like the sunshine on a cold day or the tight hug, freely given when you most need it. Or meeting great friends for great conversation, boisterous laughs and delicious food- which I am experiencing as I write this blogpost! And I feel richly blessed to be surrounded by people with positive energy, unconditional love and rock solid emotional support! I can only hope I am worthy of this blessing!
