Lookbook: Winter Bright & Faux Fur

This weekend was fun catching up with an old friend, and today I'll be meeting couple of  my college friends after years! Exciting start of the year for sure:-)

Coming to the outfit, this faux fur vest was a holiday purchase and such a good one too. I love the color and feel of this vest and it goes well with both dresses and jeans. Good for mild winter days,  not warm enough to wear it in 40 degree weather by itself, but can be layered with a cashmere sweater.

Lookbook: Bundle Up With Shearling Jacket And OTK Boots

Last week we had unseasonably warm 2 days - the temperature was hitting almost 70s! But that was just pre-Christmas shopping motivation from the retail Gods I guess, because now we are back in the 30s here! Time to bundle up again in cashmere turtlenecks and cozy outerwears. This faux shearling jacket is from 6ks.com (side note - their sizes are little off, I am usually a small or medium, but their Large fits snug). The quality of this jacket is nothing to write home about, it feels stiff and rough but looks good. I won't recommend buying this, but investing in a better quality piece that will keep you warm and last longer too.

BTW, I have been coveting Stuart Weitzman 50/50 Napa Stretch Over-the-Knee Boot, but for have been hesitating to shell out the dough. (Although for my tall frame, most OTK boots fall on-the-knee! ) After scouring the internet for a great quality leather over-the-knee boots, I concluded Vince Camuto 'Karita' boots were close second to 50/50. For less than $170 these boots are a steal. I am LOVING them so much! The black color in these was sold out almost everywhere, but I got lucky when Zappos had them back just for a couple of days! If you are looking for a chic, comfortable and good quality OTK boots, keep an eye out on Vince Camuto 'Karita' when they restock! The brown (which is very delicious color in these boots!) is still available at some retailers.

Dark Wash Skinny Jeans And Big Brown Bag

You might remember my post about finding a great fit for jeans. Liverpool jeans 'Abby' skinny is my go-to jeans these days. Its comfortable and fits like a dream.  You gotta try a pair! It is available at Dillards, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and of course online. And keep watching this space for more ways of styling a dark wash denim.

We are having constant chill and light snow and even showers lately but luckily last week we caught a break to have a Spring-like day with 56 degrees! This jacket is an old purchase from LOFT. Great alternative for a trench coat for an overcast day when its not too chilly.  Can't wait for the warmer temperature. Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!
