Dressing Up With Joy: Ethical Fashion

In a world where fashion is fast, disposable and oftentimes ambiguous in its conscience, it is very difficult to find a balance between style and ethics. So when I first heard about INKKAS, a brand of shoes that has amazingly cool styles and boasts of remarkable trade practices, I got really excited to share it on the blog. Established in 2012, Inkkas is a socially conscious footwear company that sells handmade shoes, handcrafted from South American textiles. All shoes are made by South american artisans and the brand helps these artisans earn fair wages and improve the quality of their life. In addition to bringing genuine South American shoes to the USA, a portion of all proceeds are donated to local South American communities to help protect the Amazon rainforest and its' native inhabitants. The quality craftsmanship means that the shoes will last longer and be a great fit. They have shoes for men, women and kids. I could not be more excited to see the shoes for kids! What better way to teach them about ethical fashion and businesses that give back!

It is amazing how our kids look up to us, copy us and follows us (well most of the time!). I think teaching them about ethics, values and goodness is one of the most important responsibility we have as parents. I love my role as a mom and a friend in her life!!
