Lookbook: Print Mixing With Black And White Window Pane Midi Skirt

Whenever I decide to buy something, I always ask this question - can I use this piece in at least 3 different ways by mixing and matching it with my existing wardrobe? Although there is no rule when it comes to print mixing (if it looks visually appealing, go for it!), but it becomes easier if there is some coherency going on in your outfit. If you are mixing two different prints, make sure either the base color of pieces are matching or similar prints vary in sizes.

ASOS is my favorite place to find great midi skirts. This skirt is one of my oft-repeated skirts, it mixes well with many shirts and blouses I have. In today's outfit, the window pane print is contrasting with the micro-diamond dots, but because of the black and white color scheme , it doesn't look jarring or out of place.

Heart on My Sleeves And Gratefulness In My Heart

Heart print sweater is a cute thing. And I am not saying because my little one has one too- I am saying because the cheerful, pattern full of tiny little hearts brings a smile on my face. This is befitting that I wear it during Thanksgiving week, because I am thankful for all the smiles I have in my life - whether they come from meaningful relationships, deep friendships, profound moments of parenthood, or from a frivolous little sweater:-) Love and smiles are all you need to be happy and grateful!

Last week, in between of thunderstorms, flash flood warnings and recurrent rain showers, we had couple of sunny and hot days in New York/New Jersey area. One such day, my white skater skirt came out to play. This is such a fun piece to style and mix and match and I can see myself repeating this pretty skirt a lot this summer.

I seriously love these lace up sandals by Vince Camuto. These are exclusive to Nordstrom and I can't say enough good things about their fit and comfort level! I have looked far and wide in stores and on line to find a lace up sandal with enough heel height to give it some pizzazz without making my feet hurt and trust me, I LOOKED! These are the only pair that I can wear for long period of time without cussing in my head like a drunk sailor! I love them so much that I got them in both black and cognac!

Midi skirt with a graphic Tee is one of my current favorite outfits these days. I am a HUGE fan of ASOS scuba full skirts - perfect for dress up or down, and I love the flare, longer hemlines and fullness of them! I wore a black skirt with a simple LOFT tee with these absolutely gorgeous and comfortable Vince Camuto lace up booties. Exclusively for Nordstrom, these shoes are right on the money! I wore them for a couple of hours and was very comfortable. Will check back again after longer wear!!:-)

I don't use the word 'obsession' on my blog. I feel like we are not ( and should not be) 'obsessed' with clothes or accessories. But there are certain trends that really grab our attention. Some pieces that we really cherish in our wardrobe and can't wait to wear them again and again. For me, that comes close to 'clothes obsession', and by that standard, full midi skirts can be categorized as my obsession! I feel pretty when I wear one, no matter what! ASOS have it all figured out - so many pretty scuba skirts and full pleated midi skirts to chose from!
