Kushyfoot Fall 2013 Collection: A Treat For Your Feet

Alright ladies, pay attention!! Today I am going to introduce a wonderful  brand I recently discovered - Kushyfoot.com. Kushyfoot makes tights, socks, foldable flats and all sort of socks accessories! As you all know, I love heels. I love the instant polish they give to my outfits and even boost the confidence to walk in a room with attitude:-) Unfortunately, high heels are not the most comfortable thing for our feet. That's why I love Kushyfoot  flats-on-the-go for days when I know I will be in my heels for long period of time. I can slip these lightweight foldable shoes in my bag and use it whenever I want to give my feet a break. If you wear heels for your work, these shoes a great accessory to keep in handy - you can slip them on during lunch time, or while commuting to-and-fro to office. I wore them during NY Fashion Week while rushing to the Fashion Week Venue in the subways, and right before Lincoln Center, I'd wear my 'evil' shoes! (LOL! Oh, the things we do for fashion!!)

Kushyfoot Fall 2013 collection of microfiber tights is amazing for cold weather. You can show off your gorgeous gams and be warm at the same time! These tights come in many stylish patterns like ribbed, fishnet, and diamond and will be perfect to pair with pretty dresses during holiday parties! Kushyfoot shaping tights are certified as LYCRA beauty fabrics, and smooth out the tummy and elongate the legs while providing comfort, style and coverage. a sweater dress, Kushyfoot tights and ankle booties - my winter uniform, you bet!!
Kushyfoot also make foot and toe covers to wear under pumps and flats to keep your feet safe from blisters and corns. I specially love the knee high socks to wear with trousers or with boots. I am not a big socks with pump style, but these knee-highs looked really cool with plain pumps! For me, key to wear socks with pumps is to use the same color pumps to create a boot-like look!

For a limited time you can get 20% off on your order of $40 or more at Kushyfoot, and shipping is always free on all orders over $40!

Fall/Winter Fitness Routine Refresh With adidas #NeverHibernate

As we layer up for fall, it is tempting to take easy on our fitness routines and goals. After all, those pesky little love handles that would have given us grief during summer time are no longer visible under those cozy loose sweaters and coats!  Although, during the chilly weather, I won't blame anyone for not wanting to go for a 5 AM run! That's why I like to reshuffle and refresh my fitness routine to keep me on track. During Summer, I had shared my outdoor routine refresh and today I am sharing some of my tips for changing your fitness routine for colder weather.
With the arrival of cooler weather my outdoor play time with my daughter gets cut in half, so I try to incorporate the elliptical/treadmill for cardio and continue the core and strength exercises in my wonderful community gym. (Tip: Local community recreation centers are a much cheaper alternative to expensive gym memberships - my community rec center has some amazing group classes for the fraction of the cost of big name gym chains!)
I love the indoor group classes (specially pilates and body sculpting) and my adidas gear keeps me comfortable and dry while I sweat by the bucket loads during my spin class!!The super stylish fit and colors keep me motivated and inspired to workout.

If you have been a long time reader of this blog, you might be aware of this post about how 6 years ago, I shed my pregnancy weight the healthy way. Since then I have made fitness and regular exercise a part of my life and have maintained a healthy weight and body. Changing the fitness routines with changing seasons is a great way to keep your routine fun and fresh.
If you too are looking to refresh your fitness routine for colder weather, here my top three tips. Please note that I am not a fitness expert and these tips are from my personal experience
1. Join a spin class - With cold weather, outdoor jogs and run become less appealing, but we still need cardio exercise at least 3 times a week for 30-45 minutes. I find a group spin class a perfect way to achieve my weekly cardio goals. The energy and music (and peer pressure to not give in when the going gets tough!) make it a fun work out.
2. Recruit a friend - We all know that going solo sometimes make us prone to skip work out. If you have a friend, neighbor or a co-worker who wants to team up with you for exercise, go for it. You will be less likely to skip the gym/group class and the workout will be much more fun!
3. Get the work out done in the morning - It is tempting to procrastinate the sweat and sore muscles once you jump into your daily schedule. Get the workout out of your way early, ( I keep my running shoes next to my bed and wear them before I brush my teeth!) so you won't get any chance to push it for later. We all know how it goes when we decide to 'squeeze in' a quick workout at lunch hour!
Make your workout your habit, a part of your everyday routine and just have fun! Join the conversation on twitter/instagram with hashtag #NeverHibernate to share your tips and tricks to stay active during cooler weather!

LookBook: Phillip Lim For Target Pullover, Coldwater Creek Denim

Even though denim is as essential to our style as salt is to food, THE JEANS is having a moment right now. From colored to printed to ultra dressy brocade and embroidered - you can find a pair of denim that will suit you for any occasion you have in mind. For Fall 2013, Coldwater Creek have really outdone themselves when it comes to denim. Their fall collection is stylish, well fitting and totally in-the-moment! I had the chance to collaborate with Coldwater Creek and try out the Fall denim line for myself. This is one of my favorite jeans from their Fall 13 collection. The super feminine brocade ankle jeans is dressy enough to wear at dinner yet playful enough to dress down! It fits at my natural waist and has a really flattering fit, specially at the hip and butt area (the ZONE for all womenfolks!)

#BeSahdy with TOMS For World Sight Day, October 10

#BeSahdy with TOMS For World Sight Day, October 10
Tomorrow, October 10th is World Sight Day. Fortunate are those who have the gift of sight, but do you know there are around 285 million people in the world who are visually impaired or blind, 2/3 of them are women? In some cases, the visual impairment starts in the childhood and CAN BE PREVENTED with early intervention. Over 12 million children (mostly those living in developing countries) worldwide have visual impairment that can be improved with glasses. All they need is little help. I am excited to tell you that TOMS- one of the brands I respect a lot for their philanthropy -is launching #BeShady, a social media campaign to raise awareness for World Sight Day. Through #BeShady, TOMS is inviting people all over the world to start a conversation and raise awareness about visual impairment by wearing sunglasses in an unlikely indoor setting (like in a restaurant, at the gym, etc.) on October 10th and share a photo via social media using the hashtag #BeShady.
In addition to the social media campaign, TOMS has created a limited edition pair of sunglasses available on TOMS.com especially for the initiative. With the sales proceeds, TOMS will provide eyecare to people in need. I borrowed one of these super fabulous pair to try out! Are these the coolest pair of sunglasses or what! The reflective mirror lenses of these glasses make any outfit chic and trendy instantly! I can promise you will love these glasses! Get your own pair at TOMS.com and give someone in need the gift of sight!

Fall Dressing: Houndstooth And Mixed Matrials

One of my favorite pattern for Fall/Winter is houndstooth. The classic pattern is usually used in wool or twill material and never goes out of style. I saw these silky, cuffed ankle pants in houndstooth print (not woven) at Target and thought that they were a nice modern twist on the classic pattern. These are an easy pair to dress up or dress down. I decided to dress these pants up with heels yet keep the things casual with mixed material Zara top in knit sleeves and perforated faux-leather front.

Bag - Cuore&Pelle, Similar from JCPenney

Shoes - Zara (Spring 13), Similar Here
